Low-carbon Living

Each and every one of us is responsible for the greenhouse gases we emit in our daily a ctions and choices. Therefore, combating climate change is going to take the combined eff orts of everyone on the planet.

The average household carbon footprint in China is 2.41 tons of carbon dioxide annu ally. That‘s enough to fill half an Olympic swimming pool.

Surprised? Well, here‘s how you can work to reduce it:

1.Get started by calculating your own carbon footprint. This will give you a starting point from which to begin monitoring your progress. You enter details such as what sort of apartment you live in, your personal energy use and travel habits.

2. Each week, choose one day when you don‘t eat meat. Meat uses up lots of energ y because it takes a long time to produce. Animals produce methane, which is another da ngerous greenhouse gas, when they burp and fart.

3. Only buy the amount of food you need and if there are leftovers, get creative. Fo r instance, make them into a soup. Ask to take food home from restaurants if there‘s som e left, but remember to take your own container to avoid using a disposable carton.

Making Every Day Earth Day

Now the earth is in bad condition. For example, in some places, the air and water polluti on is so serious that it causes many deaths. At the same time, many animals and plants a re in danger because of the destruction of their habitats.

Luckily, we human beings have realized the problem. On April 22nd, millions of peo ple across the world do something good for the earth. Some clean up beaches and water,

some pick up rubbish, others give speeches to call on more people to take action. But ca n we save the earth only by one day’s work? The future of our planet depends on our ef forts. What we should do is to make every day Earth Day. Only by taking good care of it every day can we hope to live in harmony with nature.

A new study warns that about thirty percent of the world's people may not have enough water by the year 2025.

A private American organization called Population Action International did the new study. It says more than three-hundred-thirty-five-million people lack enough water now. The people live in twenty-eight countries. Most of the countries are in Africa or the Middle East.

Countries may have to compete for water in the future. Some countries now get sixty percent of their fresh water from other countries. This is true of Egypt, the Netherlands, Cambodia, Syria, Sudan, and Iraq. And the report says lack of water would affect the ability of developing to improve their economies. This is because new industries often need a large amount of water when they are beginning.

The Population Action International study gives several solutions to the water problem. One way, it says, is to find ways to use water for more than one purpose. Another way is to teach people to be careful not to waste water. A third way is to use less water of agriculture.

贾晓霞超级记忆 第一届魅力魔方大赛 活 动 策 划 书 活动宗旨：本次比赛的目的是提高魔方水平，使魔方爱好者们可以相互交流。 活动目的：（1）配合秋季招生做出宣传 （2）为魔方中级、高级班做准备 （3）激励孩子们下去做练习，玩儿魔方 活动对象：已在本机构学过魔方和会玩儿魔方的学生 活动地点： 主办单位：贾晓霞超级记忆 前期工作 一、物资准备 1、前期召开内部会议，明确部门分工 道具准备齐全。 道具：5个3X3魔方，2个计时器，4个眼罩，数十篇写成语或词语的纸板，字数差不多。抽签道具（包括长签短签，用纸写的很大的字母，以及组别，时间），一个计算器（用来出“成双成对加一下”题），哨子，……（其余的在想。） 奖品：参赛者于初赛淘汰时，参赛者一人一只黑色中性笔。 参赛者于复赛淘汰时，参赛者一人一只黑色中性笔+一个本子。

第四名为：奖状一张，黑色中性笔一支。 第三名为：奖状一张，赠送一个比赛纪念魔方…… 第二名为：奖状一张，单曲MV一部，比赛纪念魔方一个 第一名为：奖状一张， 2、印出比赛体制及发放评分细则； 需填写报名表，共计30张报名表，并告知规则与时间。 3、与李勇老师将活动大致情况等交代清楚，并向李勇老师发起邀请函（资料组），邀请他们观战。邀请英语老师于决赛场上做评委。与宝龙有关部门联系好活动场地。 4、确定活动主持人，并且将整个活动向主持人介绍，准备串词等。 宣传： ①小宣传海报（资料组准备），并告知规则与时间； ②将大海报贴于门口，以示众人。 ③打电话通知家长比赛时间和地点，邀请家长观战。 6、①制定比赛制度及评分细则； ②确定比赛时间及地点； ③定参与人员。 7、①将比赛需要的魔方，椅子，桌子，计时器，奖状等准备充分。 ②工作人员（联络组）进行大量宣传。 9、将桌子椅子全部摆好，将未来预演一次。 将宣传横幅挂于活动地点，以备尽早准备。 二、总概括比赛制度： 总共分为2种类型比赛。 个人初赛和团体决赛 第一场比赛采取3X3魔方一对一制。首先双方各派一名选手出战，由魔方老师将魔方统一打乱，然后采取计时战。两方均面对大众，有计时员发号施令，计时开始后双方开始，谁用时间短谁赢。 第二场比赛采取问答比赛制。名字叫“成双成对加一下”。双方各派出一名选手出战，仍由魔方老师将魔方统一打乱，然后两方抽签，谁抽到短签谁先答题。由组委会出若干道2位数与2位数相加的题目，两方当回答问题的时候不可以再搬弄魔方，直到回答对了方可开始继续。谁先拼完谁赢。 第三场比赛名字为“心连心决胜局”。比赛为团体战。双方各派出三名选手出战。首先双方的三名队员选择摆弄魔方的先后顺序，然后拉开一段不短的距离，背对着自己的队友。由组委会喊开始，第一个人开始摆弄魔方，组委会随机喊停，然后第一个人跑向第二个人处将魔方交给第二个人，第二个人接着搬弄。组委会再一次随机喊停后，第二个人跑向第三个人处将魔方交给第三个人处，由第三个人弄完。谁先拼完谁胜利。期间不可与队友交谈。 第六场比赛名字为“谢谢给我”。双方各派出一名选手。两人背对着对方，两人分别拿两块魔方，计时员发令后开始拼，在30秒后计时员喊停，两人将魔方置于桌上，有计时员将两者互换，然后又再一次喊开始，30秒后又一次互换，循环往复。谁先拼好谁赢。 第七场比赛时“让我悄悄告诉你”决胜局。每队各派出两名队员进行PK。两名队员中其中一名队员带上眼罩，手拿魔方，另一名选手对其进行指示，但不可用手触碰魔方与队友。谁先拼完谁赢。 输者淘汰，赢者若为攻擂者，则攻擂者成为擂主，前一任擂主淘汰。若赢者为擂主，则攻擂者被淘汰。 2个人赛赛制：
