3.so +adj./adv.+that从句如此...以致

例：He is so old that he can go to school.

通常来说，这三种句型可用于同义句转换，具体如下：

too...to... =not 反义词enough to =so...that 否定句

例：He is too young to go to school.

= He is not old enough to go to school.

= He is so young that he can't go to school.

一、so…that与too…to的转换

当that引导的从句为否定式且从句主语与主句的主语相同时，so…that可转换为too…to 结构；若从句主语与主句的主语不相同时，so…that可转换为too…for sb to结构。例如：She is so young that she can’t go to school. ＝She is too young to go to school.

二、so…that与enough to的转换

1. 当that引导的从句为肯定式时，若从句主语与主句主语相同时，so…that可转换为enough to结构；若从句主语与主句主语不相同时，so…that可转换为enough for sb to结构。例如：

Xiao Lin is so old that he can go to school. ＝Xiao Lin is old enough to go to school.

The box is so light that he can carry it. ＝The box is light enough for him to carry.

2. 当that引导的从句为否定式时，若从句主语与主句主语相同时，so…that可转换为enough to的否定结构；若从句主语与主句主语不相同时，so…that可转换为enough for sb to 的否定结构。同时要注意，转换后的形容词（副词）要用其相应的反义词。例如：The man is so old that he can’t go to work. ＝The man isn’t young enough to go to work.

一、so... that...句型中的so是副词，常常用来修饰形容词或副词，常用句型为：主语+谓语+so+adj. / adv. + that从句。例如：

二、在“such... that...”句型中，such修饰名词，意思也是“如此……以致于……”但当名词前有many、much、(a) few、(a) little等词修饰时，句子中要用“so...that...”而不能用“such...that...”。例如：

so…that…so后面既可以跟形容词也可以跟副词，that后跟结果状语从句，常与情态动词can连用。

My mother is so beautiful that we all like her .

enough…to :enough既可以修饰名词也可以修饰形容词和副词，但是修饰名词时既可以放在名词之前也可以放在名词之后，而修饰形容词和副词必须放在他们之后。

例如：The tree is short enough for us to climb .

I have enough time to finish our work .

The pretty girl does her homework carefully enough to get her teacher’s praise .

如果主语是物的，可以在to之前加for somebody 。

too…to… to是表否定，与enough … to… 相同的是如果物体作主语，在to的前面加for somebody 。
