there is a very beautiful river in paris.it is the seine，it runs across the city，people drink coffee, chat on the bank in the day，at night，they enjoy the beautiful scenery in the boat，songs from the river fly into the sky made the river more attractive, the seine is a famous symbol of france;on the west coast of pacific ocean there lies the modern city shanghai，another river which used to be a very important transportation route runs through the center of the city，people respected and regard it as"mother".it is the"suzhou river，but l believe that few of you would sit beside it，people will be scattered by the terrible smell of water when walk by.i have to say it is extremely dirty! and we all know that a lot of beautiful rivers in the world also are sharing the same fate with suzhou river. who is the devil? i can't help asking.

many human activities and their by-products have the potential to pollute water. please have a look along the banks of the river, large and small industrial enterprises discharge dirty

water, tons of garbage were thrown into the river, the water contained so much that it can't clean itself. compared with the dramatic development in many sides of shanghai, the suzhou river has become a black point of the appearance of city.

fortunately, the government has control the situation now, we are happy to see some parts of the river has become clean again, and we even can find fish sometime.

the unique earth is the only planet full of lives, the water is just like the blood in the active body, protecting water is saving ourselves. not to waste a single drop of water, otherwise, the only drop of water we could keep in the future would be our tear!

my dear friends, mankind still faces a great difficulty in solving the problems of the environment and development, and there is a grand task to perform and along way to go. the middle school students in china will always cooperate with the young people of the world to protect the environment.

good evening, everyone!

throughout my years of being a student, i’ve had many teachers. none of them are the same, but the one that i’ll never forget and will always miss is my chinese bilingual teacher in the middle school i attended in seattle, ms. ho. she was a skinny, but stylish lady in her 50s. she was different from all the other teachers because she gave me something unforgettable.

ms. ho and i became friends right in the first semester i was in that middle school. at the same time, i was having a really hard time with my subjects. since i had just transferred from a bilingual school, where i had stayed for two months after arriving in the us, my english was horrible; my average grade was below c. i almost thought it impossible to learn english. then, one day she told me she strongly believed that i was capable of controlling my life, and i would be just fine. she said that she found we were much alike: both were stubborn, kind-hearted and a little bit simple-minded. she believed that i had the quality of becoming wise. she even said that she didn’t have any worries about me, about my not learning english. with her encouragement, i found the strength within myself and began to desire to work even harder. as a result, i soon proved her right, and at the end of the semester, i got a 3.8 average grade.

today, i still keep in touch with her, and she still tells me how she believes in me. sometimes, i’d think back, and wonder how i could handle all those things if it wasn’t for her encouragement and trust. could i be the person i am today? then, it struck me: what we need has always been trust and love of others; because these things inspire us to do our best, and to live our life to its fullest.

to sum up, i’d like to say to all of you: let us all appreciate trust and love of others and achieve our full potential in our life!

(10) 珍惜生活中的每一天

i remembered those words through the funeral and the days that followed when i helped him and my niece attend to all the sad chores that follow an unexpected death. i thought about them on the plane returning to california from the midwestern town where my sisters family lives. i thought about all the things that she hadnt seen or heard or done. i thought about the things that she had done without realizing that they were special.

im still thinking about his words, and theyve changed the weeds in the garden. im spending more time with my family and friends and less time in committee meetings. whenever possible, life should be a pattern of experience to savour, not endure. im trying to recognize these moment now and cherish them.

im not saving anything; we use our good china and crystal for every special. event such as losing a pound, getting the sink unstopped, the first camellia blossom…i wear my good blazer to the market if i feel like it. my theory is if i look prosperous, i can shell out $28. 49 for one small bag of groceries without wincing. im not saving my good perfume for special parties; clerks in hardware stores and tellers in banks have noses that function as well as my party going friends.

someday and one of these days are losing their grip on my vocabulary. if its worth seeing or hearing or doing, i want to see and hear and do it now. im not sure what my sister wouldve done had she know that she wouldnt be here for the tomorrow we all take for granted.

i am chinese. i am proud of being a chinese with five thousand years of civilization behind. i’ve learned about the four great inventions made by our forefathers. i’ve learned about the great wall and the yangtze river. i’ve learned about zhang heng and i’ve learned about zheng he．who says the yellow river civilization has vanished？i know that my ancestors have made miracles on this fertile land and we’re still making miracles. who can ignore the fact that we have established ourselves as a great state in the world, that we have devised our own nuclear weapons, that we have successfully sent our satellites into space, and that our gnp ranks no. 7 in the world? we have experienced the plunders by other nations, and we have experienced the war. yet, based on such ruins, there still stands our nation----china, unyielding and unconquerable!

i once came across an american tourist. she said, “china has a history of five thousand years, but the us only has a history of 200 years. five thousand years ago, china took the lead in the world, and now it is the us that is leading.”my heart was deeply touched by these words. it is true that we’re still a developing nation, but it doesn’t mean that we can despise ourselves. we have such a long-standing history, we have such abundant resources, we have such intelligent and diligent people, and we have enough to be proud of. we have reasons to say proudly：we are sure to take the lead in the world in the future again, for our problems are big, but our ambition is even bigger, our challenges are great, but our will is even greater.

ancestors. i have also taken over responsibility. i am sure, that wherever i go, whatever i do, i shall never forget that i am chinese!

(13) Nature Is Our Mother

Let me begin my speech with a replay of scenes familiar to most, if not all, of those present here today.

"Mum, I'm sorry, but I need 3,000 yuan for my tuition this year."

"Mum, it is my friend's birthday tomorrow, I must buy her a present."

"Mum, this jacket was out of fashion long ago, would you do me a favor? "

Take. Take. Take. The relationship between a mother and a child always seems to follow such a pattern. I know my mother is always there for me, providing me with everything I need; from food to clothing, from tuition to pocket money. I never thought twice about all she did until one day she said, "Will there be a time that you'll say you have taken enough from me? "

Like a child endlessly asking, we humans, throughout history, have been continually demanding what we desire from nature. We enjoy the comfort and beauty of our furniture, yet we never bother to think about the serious soil erosion caused by deforestation. We take it for granted that we must warm ourselves in winter times, yet we seldom realize the burning away of precious natural resources. We appreciate all the prosperity from the development of modern industry, yet few would give the slightest consideration to the global air and water pollution caused by industrial wastes. Our ruthless exploitation has permanently impaired our mother earth. As we tragically learned from last summer's floods. we cannot continue our carelessness.

Finally, standing here at the threshold of the 21st century, we cannot help thinking of our posterity. Nature is not only the mother of the present generation, but also the mother of the generations to come. How severely our descendents will criticize us if we leave them a barren

and lifeless mother? How much more they will appreciate us if we give them a world of harmony to inherit? Let us start respecting and caring for nature from now on. Let us start the campaign of creating a mutually beneficial relationship between people and nature right from this moment. With this new start, I firmly believe, that our children, and our children's children will live in a brand new age of green trees, clean air, crystal water, blue sky and an even more promising world!

(14) Let‘s stand up from where we fall down

All the celebrations welcoming the new century were hold in the year 2000,because life without a GREeting is like the sky without the sun.Greetings are very important for the whole world,in my opinion.

But I don't know whether GREetings are enough for us.Especially when we meet with failures .I remember quite clearly that when I was a child,if I fall down and was on the brink of crying,my father always told me"Please stand up from where you fall down!"

Yes,we must stand up from where we fall down.

That was a special mid night in 1993.Expectations filled our hearts.

We stared at the TV,hoping excitedly as the voice would fly to our ears.

But at last,each Chinese who loves our motherland was distressed to know the result:Beijing ,lost to Sydeny by a margin of two votes in the Olympic hosting competition.

Eight years have past,but the frustration has not healed with time at all.

Now,at the begining of the new millennium,all of the pride and disappointment of the 20th century had gone with the wind. The 21st century,which is full of hope,longing znd thought has come. Someone said,we would start from zero on.

Should I really start from zero on?

No!I hold that we should go on with our efferts and ambitions stayed by last century,and

make our life better.

"New Beijing,GREat Olympics!" the voice cries this out around China's captital,a 3,000 -year-old city these days.

Beijing,along with Paris,Istanbul,Osake and Toronto,has been shortlisted by the International Olympic Committee as an official candidate city for the 2008 Olympic Games.

This is Beijing's second attempt to host the games.

Everyone fully supports Beijing's bid for it.

Maybe,we can paint fences along the main roads of Beijing.

Maybe,we can make much of yhe city cleaned up.

Maybe,we can learn and speak basic English idioms and expressions for daily communication.

But,but are they just enough?

Facing the new century,mankind is driven by the revolution of science and technoiogy,world economy is undergoing broud and profound changes. But nobody can deny the fact that compared with developed nations,developing countries are confronted with more pressure and challenges.In order to become famous in the world,we must speed up our international economic restructuring to catch up with industrialized nations.

Supporting Beijing's bid is a systematic project that can support China'sdevelopment efforts.

I believe recycled paper,clean fuel,sorted rubbish,water-saving and enery-efficient facilities will become reality in the coming years for China.

(15) I love you, China

I love you, China Good morning, ladies and gentlemen, I‘m very glad to make a speech here. Today my topic is ―I love you, China.‖ Since the day I was born, I began to have a proud name—Chinese. Since the day I began to talk, the most beautiful sentence I‘ve ever learnt has been ―I love you, China!‖ I love you, China, and I‘m so proud of being a Chinese. I‘m proud that I‘ve got the beautiful yellow skin, black eyes and black hair. I‘m also proud that I speak the most beautiful language in the world—Chinese. I love you, China, for I can feel the deep love you give me every day, every minute. Last year, I got an opportunity to visit the United States of America. During my staying there, my father‘s boss once invited my family to dinner. While at table, he looked at me and asked: “Little boy, how long have you been in America?”“About a month,”I answered, “How lucky you are!”he said, “If you were living in China, how could you learn such perfect English?”I smiled and told him proudly that all the students in China are able to learn English at school. I saw his surprised eyes and said to myself, ―I‘m proud of you, China. For you are offering us the best education.‖ When I came back from the USA, my friends asked me: ―How do you feel about your staying there?‖ ―Wonderful‖ I said. ―Then why do you come back?‖ Hearing this, I told them there were lots of beautiful countries in the world, but none of them can compare with our own country—China. How true the saying is: ―There’s no place like home!‖ I love you, China. As a young student, all we should do is to study hard and

devote ourselves whole-heartedly in the future, to the GREat cause of building you into an even stronger and greater country in the world. I love you, my dear motherland! I love you, China! Thank you for your listening !

(16) Only One Earth

We have only one earth. But now,the environment becomes worse and worse.

As you know,there's no enough clean water for people. So many of them lose their lives because of water. In a lot of countries, people have to cut trees for living. So there's nothing to keep water from running away. Also we have polluted the land, the river and the air. So we have to face more and more floods and droughts .

It's time that we must do something useful to protect our environment. We can plant trees and take good care of them. We can save the water and ask our parents to do so. We can't throw any litter onto the ground and we should collect them for recycling.

If we take good care of our earth today,it will be more beautiful tomorrow

Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen, it‘s a great honor to speak here: I am an English teacher.

People often say: Teacher is the engineer of human spirit. Last September, I became a teacher. How to become a real teacher? This is the first difficulty that I come across in my career. At first, I felt so good and fun to stay with so many lovely students, then I integrated with them, and soon, the problem came out. If a teacher can‘t set up her dignity in front of the students, it will make the class teaching more difficult. In my lessons, the students often kept on talking, acting, and asking questions. What should I do? I can‘t get along with them like this any more. I must be strict with them. Pay more attention to what should be praised, what should be criticized. Any carelessness is not permitted. At last, the class discipline became better.

Nowadays, the importance of learning English is obvious. The world becomes globalization and unify. The association of each country is closer and closer. People call the earth as a global village. English is the first current language in the international world. The communication of politics, economy and culture is upon English. As we know, we will take a beating if we lay behind. How to catch up with the world? That is, study English well to gain the first hand data. The entrance of WTO, the Olympic Games which will be held in 2008, shows that we must learn English well as quickly as possible. Forcing study won’t stay in the heart, feeding knowledge into the brain won’t get a good result, and high mark isn’t our teaching goal. To get a satisfied effect, we should make the students learn on their own initiative. How to make them feel interested in studying English? I think the key point is the teaching design. It must be vivid and vigorous. We can change our study contents into games, performances, competitions and so on. Let them believe English is easy and funny.

As the step of history is advancing, the demand of English teaching is changeable. The

junior students are not what we know as before. They have a lot of knowledge, and are good at combining English with other subjects, such as history, geography, physics, chemistry and so on. Their English level is higher than what we thought. Many of them started learning English in their primary school. So English teacher should pursue advanced studies constantly, and master the latest teaching materials and methods to meet today‘s demands.

I feel very happy to be an English teacher. I will do my best to teach English well with my knowledge, my patience and my enthusiasm. Make Chinese speak English better, and show their ability and talent in the world stage. I am proud to tell you: I am an English teacher.

I am new in the teaching world. Many excellent educators have each taught me something and shown me how to look at education as a wonderful and life changing experience. Today I just want to present my own understanding towards teaching from the following three aspects.

First, teaching makes learning as a life long process possible.

Learning is a life long process. It is something you never stop doing. People learn differently and at different rates. You learn many new things everyday. To install a love of learning and the desire to always want to learn new things is a necessary job for a teacher to do. It is very important to show the children your goals as a life long learner. We need make every student realize the importance of learning.

Second, teaching needs effective methods to make it successful.

Sela Cont, a third grade student from America identified a teacher like this: What is a good teacher? I think a teacher should be good at explaining things. A teacher should be fun but challenging. A good teacher should be organized. I like a teacher who teaches fun activities in class and not just writing on paper.

From this we may be aware that if a child does not feel safe and secure in the classroom he will not be learning to the best of their potential. And this required us to bring out the best in a child, to make learning a fun and exciting experience. Learning should be something the students want to actively participate in. If a teacher makes the learning experience exciting, then the students will be excited along with you. The way of teaching is not unique for a professional. Various teaching methods are wanted. And there will be a wonderful opportunity to learn and grow from each other. The environment surrounding the children is a primary factor in leading them toward their full, creative potential.

Once you have taken a class idea, smoothed out all the bumps, and proven it is a winner, you will find new ways and places with eager new students waiting for you to show up. Teaching is supposed to be the system that removes barriers and provides a solid base for achievement. It is wrong to replace one set of barriers with another. For example, pressuring students to accept the status quo, by establishing a fear to be different and a fear of failure, kill creativity. Independent thinking should replace dependency. In some cases, pressure to excel in academics kills ethics, loyalty and motivation, skills needed for success in the real world. So the

more useful teaching methods there are in a class, the more effective the teaching is.

Third, teaching can be a wonderful occupation that can contribute to your growth as well as to the growth of your students.

As a theorist pointed out, Assertive discipline being used in the classroom is helpful. It is believed that children have the right to learn and no child should be taken that right away from them. It focused on the rights of the teacher and the students. The students know what is expected of them and the consequences if they do not follow the rules. As a teacher my purpose is to give students the tools needed to get them through life. When a student comes into my classroom they come in with a clean slate. And on the other side, the teacher will face the exciting changes and challenges. If she wants to offer many new things to the class, she must renew her own knowledge. In fact we are both learning, learning from each other.

Just as a coin has two sides, when we are teaching our students, we are at the same time learning something from them. ―If there is anything we wish to change in a child, we should first examine it and see whether it is not something that could be better changed in ourselves.‖

（19）The Internet Will Become More Popular.‖

The Internet, which was unfamiliar to human beings is totally accepted by most of people. Especially these days, it has been developing faster and faster, people do not have much time to do everything by themselv es. So making full use of the Internet is a good way to color one‘s life.

For instance, students could learn more and more from all over the world so that they can broaden their horizon and enrich their knowledge. Absolutely, the bridge that connects the whole world is the Internet.

Secondly, scientists and mathematicians, too, can share research results in order to promote the wheel of human society much more quickly.

I suppose the key factor of importance of Internet is to find a good job . In the society which is full of competition, more information means more opportunities. A job hunter can get on the Internet to browse for a favorable job.

Well, from what has been mentioned above, I believe with the high speed and efficiency, the Internet will become more and more popular among people in the near future.

Ladies and gentlemen, it's my honor to be here today to give you this speech. My topic is "the pains of growing up"

When i was a child, I hoped to grow up immediately. However, having grown up, how I wish i were a child! Once we grow up, the carefree times have flown away and there are so many pains waiting for us!

First comes the pains of studying. Exactly, studying itself is pleasant. What pains us are examinations and scores. We have to study those boring subjects and try to get high scores in exams. It's really painful.

We also suffer from dealing with others. Sometimes we may find that some people are hard to get along with. Sometimes we may quarrel with intimate friends. Such things always hurt our feelings.

Parents may bring us pains, too. We think they don't understand us. They forbid us to do what interests us and force us to do what we hate. They keep telling us what to do and what not to do as is we knew noting. They don't really care what is in our mind.

Later, some may suffer pains of losing love, pains of working and then of suppoting a family.

Growing up seems to mean endless pains,. So many people wish to return to childhood.

But you know, that's impossible. We can do nothing but stand up and overcome them, even enjoy them and shoulder our responsibilities.

My dear classmates, don't be afraid of growing up! Don't be afraid of pains. No pains, no gains. Only after tasting pains can we better enjoy sweetness and happiness. Let's grow up in pains, grow up from pains. Thank you!

Today I am very glad to be here to share with you my ideas of success. What is success? It is what everyone is longing for.Sometimes success would be rather simple. Winning a game is success; getting a high grade in the exam is success; making a new friend is success; even now I am standing here giving my speech is somehow also success.

However, as a person‘s whole life is concerned, success becomes very

complicated. Is fortune success? Is fame success? Is high social status s uccess? No, I don‘t think so. I believe success is the realization of people‘ s hopes and ideals.Nowadays, in the modern society there are many people

who are regarded as the successful. And the most obvious characteristics of hem are money, high position and luxurious life. So most people believe that s success and all that they do is for this purpose. But the problem is wether it is real success. We all know there are always more money, higher position and better condition in front of us. If we keep chasing them, where is the end? What will satisfy us at last? Therefore, we can see, to get the real Success we must need something inside, which is the realization of people‘ hopes and ideals.

Different people have different ideas about success; cause people‘s hopes and ideas vary from one another. But I am sure every success is dear to everybody, cause it is not easy to come by, cause in the process of our striving for success, we got both our body and soul tempted,

meanwhile we are enlightened by the most valuable qualities of human beings: love, patient, courage and sense of responsibility. These are the best treasures. So now I am very proud that I have this opportunity to stand here speaking to all of you. It is my success, cause I raise up to challenge my hope.

What is success? Everyone has his own interpretation as I do. But I am sure

What is friendship? Friendship is a bridge constucted by you and me, not you or me alone.Of course,building a bridge is a great project which consumes time and energy. As the saying goes,"time reveals all things". Maybe a bridge has been built, but it could not whistand the wind and rain of future. And time will help us to test on it. So friendship is you and me, time and energy.

What is friendship? The friendship of Marx and Engels was called the great friendship.Just because their outstanding work changed the world ? I think it is far from the essential of friendship. It was with the help of Engles that Marx could focus on his masterpiece and finally composed the communist manifesto. At the same time, it was the common worship for freedom and justice that encourge them to work together through the hard period. So friendship is you and me , help and dream.

What is friendship? A old man may find that he has only one friend in his life. Friends are easy to spell , easy to pronounce, but difficult to be forever. In childhood, we played together innocently. When we were tennagers, we went after our dream . In the future, I may not know where you are and what you will have become. 第一篇：英语演讲稿_励志·哲理 3分钟 we are the world ,we are the future someone said “we are reading the first verse of the first chapter of a book, whose pages are infinite”. i don?t know who wrote these words, but i?ve always liked them as a reminder that the future can be anything we want it to be. we are all in the position of the farmers. if we plant a good seed ,we reap a good harvest. if we plant nothing at all, we harvest nothing at all. we are young. “how to spend the youth?” it is a meaningful question. to answer it, first i have to ask“what do you underst and by the word youth?” youth is not a time of life, it?s a state of mind. it?s not a matter ofrosy cheeks, red lips or supple knees. it?s the matter of the will. it?s the freshness of the deep spring oflife. youth means a temperamental predominance of courage over timidity of the appetite , for adventure over the love of ease. this often exists in a man of 60 more than a boy of 20 . nobody grows old merely by a number of years . we grow old by deserting our ideals. years wrinkle the skin , but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul . worry , fear , self –distrust bows the heart and turns the spirit back to dust . whether 60 of 16 , there is in every human being ?s heart the lure of wonders, the unfailing childlike appetite of what?s next and the joy of the game of living . in the center of your heart and my heart there?s a wireless station : so long as it receives messages ofbeauty , hope ,cheer, courage and power from men and from the infinite, so long as you are young . a poet said “to see a world in a grain of sand, and a heaven in a wild flower, hold infinity in the palm of your hand, and eternity in an hour.several days ago, i had a chance to listen to a lecture. i learnt a lot there. i?d like to share it with all of you. let?s show our right palms. we can see three lines that show how our love.career and life is. i have a short line of life. what about yours? i wondered whether we could see our future in this way. well, let?s make a fist. where is our future? where is our love, career, and life? tell me.yeah, it is in our hands. it is held in ourselves. we all want the future to be better than the past. but the future
