BAO Adhesion test report附着力测试(百格测试)
1.Scope and Field of Application
The pencil method belongs to the group of scratch hardness testing instru
testing the surface hardness of coatings with sharp edges, or other rough surfaces.
Highly pigmented paint or that containing flake-shaped pigments are not recommended for use with this testing UV system curing condition, method IV should be used.
2.Test piece
The test is well suited to be carried out on component level, i.e. coated fronts, flips, frames, etc. can be minimum of five pieces tested is recommended.
3.Sample size
3pcs test samples and 1pcs reference sample
4.Conditioning
A minimum of 2 hours in ambient conditions (21±3 oC, 50±10 % RH) is required for this test. The coat cured for the specified time before conditioning.
5.Test procedure
For selection of scratch tool the total thickness of the paint must be
unless not already known.
Standards prescribe the following spaces between two cuts:
- film thickness up to 60 μm, 1 mm cutting spacing
- film thickness up to 120 μm, 2 mm cutting spacing
- film thickness more than 120 μm, 3 mm cutting spacing
Use a proper scratching tool to cut a 6x6 cut-lattice (see figure below) on a surface
as flat as possible of the test object. If the specimen is very small and there is not
enough space to cut the surface in lattice patterns, cut it in a cross as shown in
figure below.
6.Pass/Fail Criteria
At least ISO Class 0 (1 for reference samples) is required, unless stated otherwise
7. Test Location
Performance this test at three locations for one sample,
% RH) is required for this test. The coating must be dried or
ust be measured,
