Abstract—To improve the control performance of unbalanced

load of parallel-connected dual induction motors fed by a single

inverter,a novel control strategy based on the weighted vector

control is proposed.In this paper,a weighted?ux linkage vector

model of dual induction motors is developed,and then the control

expressions of weighted rotor?ux linkage and summation torque

of dual speed-irrelevant motors are derived.The weight value of

vector control for dual induction motors in unbalanced load is dis-

tributed automatically according to the torques and motor speeds.

The experimental results in multiple induction motor platforms

prove that the proposed method can start in a wide load range,es-

pecially at heavy unbalanced load and improves the performance

of dynamic response with a sudden change of unbalanced load.

I.I NTRODUCTION

T HE coordination control of multiple induction motors is implemented in an electrical transportation system and some industry application.It can be divided into two categories: single-inverter driving multiple induction motors and multiple inverters driving multiple induction motors.The multiple in-verters system can realize complex control since one inverter controls one motor separately.A typical control scheme for multiple inverters is the synchronization control,speed differ-ence control[1]–[3],and ef?ciency control[4].

Because the single-inverter drive system has the advantage of low cost,lightweight,compact structure,and less IGBTs,it is being used widely with the development of the control strategy. Recently,researchers in single-inverter drive?elds focussed on multiple-leg inverter control and vector control of multiple mo-tors.In multiple-leg inverter control,one typical structure is the four-leg single inverter which is used to drive two induction motors[5],[6].The other is a?ve-leg single-inverter drive sys-tem[7]–[10].It controls two induction motors with different voltage vector to improve the performance of the drive system. However,multiple-leg inverter increase the number of IGBT and capacitor.In vector control of multiple induction motors, some strategies were proposed to control multiple motors fed by the single inverter.Previously,the multiple induction motors were considered as a single motor,it is only suitable to the drive system whose motors have the same parameters and same speed. Then,the average?ux linkage of different motors is applied to control the different induction motors,because the parameters of different motors are always dissimilar more or less,However, it is dif?cult to obtain satisfactory dynamic control performance since the excitation current and torque current of two induction motors are not precisely irrelevant.Some researchers presented the equivalent circuit of multiple induction motors and the stator ?ux oriented control scheme[11],[12].This control scheme is suitable evidently for high-power drive system to improve the power factor in large inertia system.Kelecy and Lorenz pro-posed a vector control model of dual induction motors fed by a single inverter and derived the control equation of excitation current and torque current[13].It can control the total torque of two induction motors.Matsuse et al.introduced the speed-sensorless control into vector control model of dual induction motors[14],[15].Bouscayrol et al.[16]proposed a weighted

voltage vector control strategy to actively inhibit the skid of two induction motors.It was a novel idea to realize the ad-hesive force control.However,in a multiple induction motors system,the load torque of each induction motor may be unbal-anced.The heavy unbalanced load can cause two motors fail in starting.It is critical to research a new strategy to solve this problem.

The parallel-connected induction motors fed by the single in-verter have their own characteristics.The motors share the same input voltage and frequency.If the speed of dual induction mo-tors has weak relevance,the speed of each motor is decided by its own load.This includes the applications in electrical transporta-tion system,fans,pump,and so on.The performance of dual induction motors fed by the single inverter will be in?uenced by heavy unbalanced load.

The purpose of this paper is to propose a weighted vector control strategy to achieve the unbalanced load control of dual induction motors fed by the single inverter.The motor speeds and torques are applied to calculate the weight value,and then distribute the control weight to dual induction motors.The ex-perimental results in multiple induction motors platforms in our lab are utilized to prove the effectiveness and usefulness of the proposed method.

II.W EIGHTED V ECTOR C ONTROL OF D UAL IM S F ED BY THE

S INGLE I NVERTER

A.Weighted Vector Control Model of Dual IMs Fed by the Single Inverter

The dual induction motors fed by the single inverter are shown in Fig.1,the motors are supplied with the same frequency voltage.The different slip between dual induction motors,which is caused by the unbalanced load,can lead to different speed and stator current of dual induction motors.

Generally,the equal vector control is applied to calculate the given excitation current and torque current in the existing method.Although it is simple and easy to implement,it has fewer variables to achieve high performance control at heavy unbalanced load.Here,we de?ne the weight value k m to ex-plain the weighted vector control strategy subsequently,which is shown in Fig.2.

Because the d–q components of rotor?ux and stator current in synchronous reference frame are not an alternating quantity,it is suitable to analyze the weighted vector control strategy.There-fore,the weighted and different value of rotor?ux linkage,

III.W EIGHT V ALUE C ALCULATION OF S PEED -I RRELEV ANT

D UAL IM S A.Difference Between the Speed-Irrelevant and Speed Relevant Drive System

According to the characteristics of mechanical load,dual in-duction motors drive system fed by the single inverter may be de?ned as two types,which are speed-irrelevant and speed-relevant.In speed-irrelevant drive system,the speed of each motor is independent and determined by its own torque.The control objective is the unbalanced load of dual motors.In speed-relevant drive system,the speed of each motor has proportional relationship since the diameter difference of each wheel or oper-ation requirement.The control objective in speed-relevant mo-tors is the torque difference of dual motors.Thus,we research these two types drive system,respectively,since the control ob-jective and strategy are different.In this paper,we focus on speed-irrelevant dual induction motors system.The different torque in?uences the slip as well as the speed of each motor.Thus,the system performance with unbalanced load is needed to be guaranteed.

B.Calculation of the Weight Value

The weight value k m consists of two parts:torque component k mt and speed component k ms .The torque component is calcu-lated by practical torque in (15).The physical meaning of k mt is biasing the control weight to an induction motor with heavy load to improve the dynamic response in an unbalanced load condition

IV.C ONFIGURATION OF THE W EIGHTED V ECTOR C ONTROL The con?guration of the weighted vector control for speed-irrelevant dual induction motors is shown in Fig.3.The speed of dual induction motors is controlled by PI and P controller, respectively.Because dual motors are supplied with the same voltage vector,and the unbalanced load can cause different slip of dual motors,the speed difference of dual motors is inevitable under the unbalanced load conditions.Therefore,the closed-loop speed control of dual motor cannot be achieved.If two PI controllers are used,respectively,the speed difference of dual motors can lead the calculation of summation torque to in?nity and then lead the system to crash[15].The control?ow is described as follows.

First,the rotor?ux of each induction motorsψe r1andψe r2 is calculated by conventional rotor?ux observer.It is based upon the current model utilizing measured stator current and rotor velocity[17].After that,the weighted rotor?uxˉψe r is obtained to establish the new frame.The d and q components of current vectors are oriented in“weighted rotor?ux linkage oriented frame”by(4).Second,the reference of stator current is calculated by(9)and(14)to control rotor?ux linkage and summation torque of dual induction motors to achieve weighted vector control.Third,the PI controller is applied to achieve the closed-loop control of torque and speed.

When k m=0.5,the expressions of(9)and(14)are the same as the existing method[14].Thus,the existing method is a special case of the proposed method in this paper.If the load of dual induction motors is balanced,then the existing method can control summation torque of dual induction motors very well. However,when they have to endure heavy unbalanced load,it is dif?cult to start dual motors by the existing method.Because the motor with low load runs faster,it may result the subversion of the heavy load induction motor.In this paper,we use k m to distribute the weight of vector control to heavy load

motor.By this way the starting dif?culty at heavy unbalanced load can be overcome.Furthermore,it can improve the dynamic response of sudden change of unbalanced load by increasing the weighted value k m.

V.P LATFORM OF AN E XPERIMENT AND THE S IMULATION The multiple induction motors experiment platform in our lab is shown in Fig.4.It includes motors,load,DSP controller, inverter,wave display,and command.The IGBT of inverter is Skiip39AC126V2,the switch frequency is2kHz.The data are recorded by Ethernet card with4kHz sampling rate.The mul-tiple motors and load are illustrated in Fig.5.M1–M4indicate the four induction motors,F1–F4indicate the four breaking discs,W1–W4indicate four pulleys with different diameters. T1and T2indicate two torque sensors.In order to achieve the running condition of speed-irrelevant dual induction motors,we remove the pulley and the breaking discs F3and F4to supply

the unbalanced load.M1and M2are controlled by the proposed strategy.M3and M4are utilized to supply the sudden change of unbalanced load.

The simulation platform is PSIM 9.0with the simulation step 1μs.Table I gives the motor parameters of simulation and experiment.All simulation and experimental results are from this experiment and simulation platform.

VI.E XPERIMENTAL R ESULTS AND D ISCUSSION

A.Variation of Weight Value

The torque in?uenced by the variation of weight value is dis-cussed in this section.The simulation and experimental results are shown in Fig.6.When k m varies from 0.9to 0.1in simulation as shown in Fig.6(a),the summation torque of dual induction motors T s keeps 29N ·m,the speeds of dual motors are 165and 154r/min,respectively.When k m varies from 0.9to 0.1in an experiment as shown in Fig.6(b),T s approximately keeps 28.5N ·m,the speeds of dual motors are 165and 152r/min,respectively.Thus,the variation of k m does not in?uence the summation torque of the dual induction motor.It also proves that (9)and (14)can achieve the closed-loop control of torque for speed-irrelevant dual induction motors.B.Unbalanced Load at Start

The existing method and proposed method are implemented to compare the performances of two strategies under the un-balanced load from start.The simulation results are shown in Figs.7(8N ·m),8(60N ·m),and 9(100N ·m).In these ?g-ures,the low unbalanced load (8N ·m),middle unbalanced load (60N ·m),and heavy unbalanced load (100N ·m)are simulated,respectively.In low unbalanced load,both the existing method and proposed method can realize the speed closed-loop con-trol.In middle unbalanced load,the existing method has

difference at starting,but the proposed method controlled dual induction motors satisfactorily by adjusting the weight value.In the heavy unbalanced load,the existing method cannot start,but the proposed method started smoothly by distributing the weight of vector control to the motor with heavy load.

In experiments,other levels of unbalanced loads are imple-mented,which are shown in Figs.10(5N ·m),11(10N ·m),and 12(25N ·m),respectively.

In an unbalanced load of 5N ·m,two methods can achieve the closed-loop speed control,although we distributed the weight of vector in the proposed method.In the middle unbalanced load of 10N ·m,the existing method has speed difference at starting.However,the speeds of dual induction motors were controlled

very well by adjusting the weight value in the proposed method.In the heavy unbalanced load of 25N ·m,the existing method fails in start,but the proposed method started smoothly by dis-tributing the weight of vector control to motor with heavy load.The conclusion of experimental results are similar with sim-ulation.Thus,we can say that the proposed method,which reg-ulates the weight of vector control totally to unstaring induction motor,can start satisfactorily.

C.Sudden Change of Unbalanced Load

Fig.13shows the simulation results under the condition of sudden change of unbalanced load by using the existing method and the proposed method.From Fig.13,it is known that the torque of dual induction motors is 15and 35N ·m,respectively,before 10s.After 10s,the torque of dual induction

is suddenly changed to 55and 35N ·m.Thus,the unbalanced load is from ?20to 20N ·m.In the existing method,the weight value k m keeps 0.5;thus,the weight of vector control is equally distributed.In proposed method,k m is from 0.3to 0.6at 10s since the torque of dual motors is suddenly changed.It is evident that the dynamic response of the proposed method is better than the existing method since the weight value is calculated by practical torque of dual induction motors.

The experimental results are shown in Fig.14.The brake discs installed on dual induction motors are adjusted to supply unbalanced load with 17and 30N ·m.M3in platform supply 25N ·m torque.So,the unbalanced load of M1and M2is 17

and 5N ·m.When we cut off torque of M3,the unbalanced load is suddenly changed to 17and 30N ·m.Thus,the unbalanced load is from 12to ?13N ·m.The simulation and experimental results show that the proposed method is better than the existing method in this condition.The reason is that the weight of vector control is biased to the heavy load induction motor by adjusting the weight value.

D.Speed Variation Under the Unbalanced Load

The simulation and experimental results of reference speed variation under the unbalanced load are shown in Fig.15.

simulation results shown in Fig.15(a),the variation of refer-ence speed of dual motors is from 130to 350r/min.The torque difference of dual motors is nearly 5N ·m.The weight value is calculated by the torque of dual motors.The simulation results prove that the proposed method has good performance under the condition of reference speed variation.In experimental results,the speed of dual motors varies also from 130to 350r/min.The torque difference of dual motors is 5N ·m.The experimen-tal results,which are similar to simulation results,show that the proposed method has good performance under the speed variation condition.

VII.C ONCLUSION

A weighted vector control of speed-irrelevant dual induction motors fed by the single inverter is proposed.The performance of unbalanced load control is improved by regulating the weight of the vector control.From the simulation and experimental results in multiple induction motors platform,the following conclusion can be obtained:

1)the weighted excitation current and torque current derived

by the weighted vector mode can realize the torque control of speed-irrelevant dual induction motors and distribute the weight of vector control to dual induction motors; 2)in heavy unbalanced load,the propose method completely

distributes the weight of vector control to the induction motor at standstill to start at heavy unbalanced load effec-tively;

3)in sudden change of unbalanced load condition,the pro-

posed method can improve the dynamic response by regu-lating more weight of vector control to the induction motor with heavy load.

The proposed strategy is expected to be applied in electrical transportation with multiple motors drive system fed by the single inverter.

of Electrical Engineering,Chinese Academy of Sci-

ences,Beijing,China,in2002,where he is currently a

Professor.His current research interests include anal-ysis and control of electrical machines and contactless power supply

technology.

Yaohua Li was born in Henan,China,in1966.He

received the Ph.D.degree in1994from Tsinghua

University,Beijing,China.

From1995to1997,he was a Postdoctoral Re-

search Fellow in the Institute of Electrical Machine,

Technical University of Berlin,Berlin,Germany.He

joined the Institute of Electrical Engineering,Chi-

nese Academy of Sciences,Beijing,China,in1997,

where he is currently a Professor and the Vice Direc-

tor of the Institute of Electrical Engineering,Chi-

nese Academy of Sciences.His research interests include analysis and control of electrical machines,and power electronics technology.

首届“教育教学技能大比武”总结 为期半个月的青年教师首届“教育教学技能大比武”活动已经圆满落下帷幕。参加本次比赛的教师都是38周岁以下的青年教师,比赛内容包括讲课、答辩、三笔字、演讲四个环节。这次活动在学校领导的大力支持下,在全体教师的努力配合下,在参赛教师积极参与、认真准备下,取得圆满成功。 回顾本次比赛活动,老师们无论是在个人综合素质、教材把握能力还是在课堂驾驭能力上都有精彩的展示,下面对本次活动做一个总结: 一、讲课赛环节 这十九位青年教师对此次比赛高度重视,认真备课、讲课,为我们呈现了一节节风格各异、亮点纷呈的课,主要呈现了一下几个特点: 1、备课充分、设计用心。 老师们在备课过程中,能深入钻研教材,做了大量充分的准备。老师们都精心设计导语,创设情境,千方百计地激发起学生强烈的求知欲,能够把知识和能力深入浅出又扎扎实实的传授给学生,每一节课都朴实无华,每一节课都独具匠心,比如:郑珊老师在讲授《图形的旋转》一课时,教学设计层次分明,抓住平移和旋转的特征明确其描述方法,在新授的过程中能够放手让学生自己思考-动手操作-小组交流-展示(说明描述),老师引导学生亲历学习过程,通过几个有效的追问,使自己体会掌握了学习内容。 2、教学扎实有效,注重基础训练。 老师们能够抓住教学目标,精心设计每一个环节,同时老师们十分注重基础训练,比如高年级语文老师在教学中注重字词的品读与指导,在阅读教学中,老师能通过阅读来领悟文本的内涵,例如王玉英讲述《梅花魂》一课,她更注重引导学生“品词、品句、品读”以此让学生以读明理,以读悟情,通过“品”字让学生真正体会到了外祖父为什么那么珍爱墨梅图,从而理解梅花的品行,上升到中国人的气节。语文中低年级教学中,教师注重字形的书写字文的理解和区别运用,比如赵彤霞老师执教《植物妈妈有办法》一课,能在文中恰到好处的让学生理解“许多”和“许”“多”的区别,并用“纷纷”说一句话。又比如赵志芳执教《秋天的雨》一课中,注重了“爽”字的书写指导,教学中注重句子的训练,让学生练说比喻句。 3、注重学生情感态度和学习习惯的培养。 注重学生情感态度和学习习惯的培养是成为这次比赛课的又一亮点。老师们在教学中,做到自始至终关注学生的情感,营造宽松、民主、和谐的教学气氛,尊重每个学生,积极鼓励他们在学习中的尝试,保护他们的自尊心和积极性。比如吴蕊霞老师的鼓励具有个性化,激励性的语言常挂嘴边,成为学生不断学习、创新不可缺乏的精神动力。同时在教学中注重学习习惯的培养,比如高月枝老师在授课的同时适时对学生进行了课常规的教育,整个一节课,教学秩序井然有序,对于刚上学两个星期的孩子真的很难得。 4、善用多媒体教学。 本次讲课赛几乎所有的老师都制作了精美实用的多媒体课件,追求既生动形象又快捷高效的教学效果。特别是赵丽和龚伟科两位老师用我们上学期培训的知识制作了白板课件。 5、教师素养良好。 通过这次比赛,我们欣喜地看到我校青年教师具备良好的教师基本素质。他们教态大方得体,语言清晰,具有较强的亲和力和应变能力。王敏、陈蓉等老师她们在课堂上文雅得体的教态,丰富的肢体语言以及亲切和蔼的微笑,都给我们留下了深刻的印象,深受学生的喜爱。 针对本次讲课赛反映出的问题,给老师们提出以下建议,跟老师们商榷:1、语文教学中,略读课文的教学教师应大胆放手学生,让学生充分展示自己。有感情的朗读,重在先理解再
