Good morning, Ladies and Gentlemen, I am number 1, it’s my great honor to be here to share my teaching ideas, today I am going to talk about lesson 5, What are these ? Let’s talk.

part one: Analysis of teaching materials

①Status and function

This lesson is not only the first period, but also the most important one in lesson 5

②Analysis of the students

The students in grade 4 have learnt English for nearly two years, they have some basic English background knowledge. S uch as “ what is it?”, and the children at this age are actively and lively, they are very interested in English learning.

③Teaching aims

According to the analysis of the teaching materials and the situation of the students, I made three teaching aims as follows.

The first is aim of Knowledge:

1, to help students grasp new words, such as “walk, jump, these” and so on. 3, to help students grasp new structures of the sentences: such as “what are these?, what are those ?

The second is the aim of abilities:

1, to improve students’ ability of listening and speaking.

2, to improve students’ ability of working in pairs or in groups.

The third is the aim of emotion:

1, To foster Ss’ consciousness of good cooperation and their self-confidence of

learning English.

2,Let Ss know that we should protect animals and to be polite in our daily life Key points and difficult points.

According to the teaching outline and the position of this lesson, I think the key points are to help students grasp new words and sentences in language aims. And the difficult points are to grasp the use of the sentences in our daily commutation.

Part two: Teaching methods.

Based on the new curriculum standard and the characteristic of this lesson, I will use the follow teaching methods, such as, communicative teaching method, situational teaching method, listening, pair work and so on.

Part three: Learning methods.

In order to cultivate students’ interests of learning English and achieve my teaching aims, I will arrange different kinds of activities, such as working in groups, working in pairs, sing a song, play a chant and so on.

In this lesson,PPT ,pictures and tape recorder will be used .

my part four: Teaching procedures.

I will finish it in 5 steps, warm-up, presentation, practice, consodication,

homework.

Step 1: Warm-up

A good begin, a half done, so I will arrange two activities in this step.

First a simple conversation between T and Ss.

T: Hi, boys and girls, how are you today, Ss will say I am ok.

Then sing a song with Ss.

Are these pandas? Are these pandas? Yes they are yes they are, they are pandas, they are pandas, oh pandas. Oh pandas.

Purpose: To form a better English learning surrounding for students .

Step 2: Presentation.

1, In this step, I will use ppt to show a shop, and there are many things in the shop, like buses, different toys a nd balls, and point buses with a sentence: “are these buses?” Ss may say “Yes, they are” and I will point pandas by using new sentence “what are these”to guide Ss say “They are pandas” I will write down the new sentence on the blackboard “what are these?” let Ss read after me for several times. I will use the same way to teach the other sentences and words. 2,,After teaching all the sentences and words, I will ask Ss to listen to the tape carefully and answer my questions

Purpose: 1,to learn new words and sentences in a real situation is much easier for students to grasp the meaning.

Step 3, Practice and consolidation

In this step, I will arrange a game “quick and answer”, using some pictures to show different animals with new sentences: are these? What are those? Such as boys and girls, look here, what are these? Ss need to answer quickly: they are……. The best reaction students will get a beauti ful gift.

After the interesting game, I will also arrange some cooperation activities to help Ss to consolidate the knowledge they learnt in the class. Such as: working in groups, working in pairs, conversation between T and all the Ss, for example, I will divide all the class into five groups, ask them to use the new sentences to make a new dialogue, then each group go to the front to perform it. The best group will be rewarded.

Purpose: Play games” Quick and answer” can develop Ss’ ability of reaction and help Ss focus on their attention in learning English,

Step 5, Homework.

Review the dialogue and practice it as more as possible to consolidate the knowledge they learnt today.

Part Five: Blackboard design.

Purpose: To make Ss grasp the key words and sentences more easily.
